Ruben Amorim is the clear favourite to become the next Manchester United manager, according to the bookmakers.
United finally axed Erik ten Hag on Monday, following a weekend defeat at West Ham, and in the hours leading up to that Amorim had become the favourite for the role.
That quickly changed following the confirmation that Ten Hag was gone, with former Barcelona boss Xavi being made a favourite among some leading bookmakers.
However, reports over the past 24 hours have suggest Amorim is the man that United want, and Coral punters share that belief.
As a result, the current Sporting Lisbon boss has been backed in to 1/5 for the job.
“If reports are to be believed, Ruben Amorim is Manchester United’s number one choice to replace Erik ten Hag,” Coral’s John Hill told FreeTips.com.
“We now make the Portuguese coach long odds-on to be named as the Reds’ next manager.”
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is next up in the betting at 5/1, with former England manager Gareth Southgate now out at 8/1 as the only other manager shorter than 14s.
