Next Rangers Manager Odds – Frank Lampard 5/2 favourite for Rangers job

The Ibrox club finally gave Michael Beale the boot on Sunday night, following an embarrassing 3-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen.

That loss compounded a disappointing start to the season for the Gers that has seen them already lose plenty of ground on Celtic and fail to qualify for the Champions League.

That made the loss to the Dons the final straw for the board, who now find themselves on the hunt for a manager for the third straight year.

Former Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard has emerged as the 5/2 favourite with Ladbrokes, amid reports he is interested in moving to Scotland in an attempt to revive his career.

“Frank's seemingly keen to get back in a dugout,” Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati told FreeTips.com. “The latest odds suggest his next move will take him north of the border.”

The Lampard reports have received a lukewarm reaction from Rangers fans though, with many keen on 11/4 Kevin Muscat following his successful stints in Australia and Japan.

Of course, his track record will be likened to that of Ange Postecoglou, who enjoyed a successful stint at Celtic and parlayed that into the Tottenham job.

AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen is next up at 4/1, with current Kilmarnock boss and ex-Rangers midfielder Derek McInnes considered a 7/1 shot ahead of interim manager Steven Davis.

Ambitious fans would love nothing more than to see the club make a move for former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter, but he is out at 14/1 following reports he does not want the Ibrox job.
