Casa Pia are flying high this season, sitting sixth in the Primeira Liga where they haven’t lost at home since August. They won three straight games in December which included a 2-1 victory at Braga.

The Geese started 2025 with a 1-1 draw against Famalicao. They were then knocked out of the Portuguese Cup, beaten 3-1 at home by Rio Ave.

João Pereira’s side bounced back with a 3-2 win at Boavista. Two own goals and a Jeremy Livolant strike established a 3-1 lead, but they couldn’t take advantage of the hosts going down to 10 men in the 64th minute and held on.

Benfica suffered two Primeira Liga defeats either side of a brief new year break. They bounced back by winning the League Cup, beating Braga 3-0 in the semi-finals and defeating Sporting CP in a penalty shootout in the final.

The Eagles came from behind to advance in the Portuguese Cup, winning 3-1 at Farense to reach the quarter-finals. Leandro Barreiro then hit hat-trick in a 4-0 win against Famalicao which got their Liga campaign back on track.

Bruno Lage’s side are coming off a thrilling 5-4 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League. Vangelis Pavlidis hit a hat-trick to make it 3-1 at half-time, they led 4-2 with 15 minutes remaining before conceding three late goals.

Kiki and Clau Mendes remain out injured for Casa Pia.

Midfielder Andrian Kraev is suspended and likely to be replaced by Rafael Brito.

Renato Sanches is injured once again and joins Tiago Gouveia on the sidelines.

Angel Di Maria should come back into the side after suffering an injury in Faro.
