Romanian Liga I Format


The 16 teams in the Romanian Liga I play each other on a home and away basis to total 30 league matches in the season. There are then playoffs to determine the champions and the two relegated teams.

The top six teams play in the championship playoff and bottom 10 in the relegation playoff. The points that teams carried over from the initial season are halved while goal difference is erased completely.
