FC Tambov host Ural at the Mordovia Arena in the Russian Premier League on Friday. The hosts have lost six in a row but at home they have been competitive. Ural have not been in particularly good form but can they take advantage of the chaos at the Tambov club?

FC Tambov find themselves rock bottom of the Russian Premier League. They are currently on a six-match losing streak in the competition.

FC Tambov are missing a number of players as they continue to boycott matches due to unpaid wages. Midfielders Valeriu Ciuperca and Mikhail Kostyukov are both expected to be out, as are defenders Aleksey Gritsaenko and Aleksey Rybin.

Defender Nikita Chicherin and forward German Onugkha missed FC Tambov’s last match through injury and are likely out again.

Their last two matches have ended in a 5-1 defeat at Zenit St Petersburg and a 2-2 draw at CSKA Moscow. Ural had to come from behind twice in the match, firstly through Andrey Egorychev and then Igor Kalinin.

Pavel Pogrebnyak will be missing up front due to suspension after receiving red in his last match.

There are further players who are doubtful for Ural. These include centre-backs Stefan Strandberg and Vladimir Rykov, midfielders Roman Emelyanov, Vyacheslav Podberezkin and Erec Bicfaliv, and forward Andrei Panyukov.

Ural lead FC Tambov 2-1 in their previous four encounters. There has been one draw.

The last time they met was in October 2020 where the match ended 0-0.
