Al Shabab vs Al Ittihad Preview

Al Ittihad are still in celebration mood after securing the Saudi League title in the previous round. Al Shabab missed to score at home just once in 2025, so we should witness an open clash with plenty of goals.

Al Shabab Form

Al Shabab are cemented in 6th place in the Saudi League ahead of the final two rounds, having collected 57 points in 32 matches.

Fatih Terim’s side recorded two back to back draws in mid-April against Al Okhdood 0-0 and title contenders Al Hilal 2-2, while losing their first appearance this month to Al Fateh 3-1.

Al Shabab ended their three-game winless run with a 3-1 home win against Al Ahli on 11th May, while beating Al Riyadh in the previous round with the same result, Abderrazak Hamed-Allah scoring two goals in these encounters.

Al Ittihad Form

Al Ittihad are newly crowned champions of the Saudi League, accumulating 77 points in 32 matches to secure the title two rounds before the season end.

Laurent Blanc’s side is entering this clash with a four-game winning run behind them which started with a 3-2 win against Al Ettifaq in late April.

This month, they outplayed Al Nassr 3-2, Al Fayha 3-0 and Al Raed 3-1, Karim Benzema scoring three goals and registering one assist in these encounters. He is currently at 21 goals and nine assists in his 28 league appearances this season.

Team News

Al Shabab continue to be without first-choice goalkeeper Seung-Gyu Kim, who remains sidelined due to a cruciate ligament injury. Fahad Al Muwallad remains a doubt as he recovers from a chest issue, and Mohamed Al-Thani is also set to miss out again as he deals with a muscle injury.

As for the visitors, Karim Benzema missed the last match and remains a doubt. Hasan Kadesh has been ruled out with a muscle injury and is not expected to return before the end of the month.
