Celtic vs Hearts Predictions

Entertainment is usually on the cards when Premiership leaders Celtic are in action.

I expect both teams to score in Glasgow, with the Hoops tipped to claim a vital victory at Parkhead.

  • Celtic have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches
  • Celtic have seen over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 10 matches
  • Celtic won 4 of their last 5 matches
  • Celtic won 6 of their last 7 home matches
  • Hearts lost 5 of their last 6 away matches against Celtic
  • Hearts have seen over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 away matches

Head to Head

Hearts arrive in Glasgow in search of a remarkable third successive win against Celtic. The Hoops had won their ten previous encounters before the Jambos scored 2-0 wins in December and March.

Celtic Form

Celtic return to Parkhead after a hard-fought 2-1 win at Dundee in the Premiership last weekend. A double strike from James Forrest helped maintain the Hoops' three-point advantage at the summit of the division.

Brendan Rodgers's side are now unbeaten in seven games played since a 2-0 defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle last month.

Unbeaten in 56 home Premiership matches before the Jambos 2-0 win at Parkhead in December, the Hoops have since won eight and drawn one of nine home league matches.

Celtic Team News

Celtic boss Rodgers has no new injury issues to deal with ahead of Saturday's crucial Premiership contest.

Daizen Maeda is still unavailable as he continues his recovery from a hamstring strain.

Hearts Form

Hearts return to Glasgow looking to extend their unbeaten Premiership run to five matches after a 0-0 draw against Kilmarnock last time out. The Jambos are now unbeaten in 16 of their previous 18 league matches.

Almost assured of a third-place finish in the Premiership, Steven Naismith's side have picked up eight points from recent fixtures against Kilmarnock (twice) St. Mirren and Livingston.

The Jambos have an excellent recent away record, with nine wins collected from 14 Premiership road games played this year.

Hearts Team News

Hearts boss Naismith could retain faith in the same XI that started last weekend's stalemate against Killie. Craig Halkett is the only absentee with a long-term knee issue.

Premiership top scorer Lawrence Shankland will spearhead the visitors' attack.

Verdict

A high-scoring home win seems the likeliest outcome at Parkhead.

I fancy BTTS, while the hosts should have enough quality to edge their way to a vital victory.
