Scottish Championship Format


There are 10 teams that compete in the Scottish Championship with each playing the other on three occasions for a 27 match season. A team receives three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for defeat.

The top side is automatically promoted while the second, third and fourth placed side have to get through a playoff round against each other. The winner takes on the 11th placed side in the Premiership.

With regards to relegation, the same process is followed with the bottom two sides in the Scottish Championship and the teams in the lower league.
