Hearts vs Inverness - FA Cup semifinal set to produce goals

Goals are expected when Hearts and Inverness meet in the semi final of the Scottish FA Cup at Hampden Park. 

The Jam Tarts have seen over 2.5 goals in their last three matches and a similar outcome is predicted at odds of 1.85. Hearts have also won five of their last seven FA Cup matches and are tipped to claim the win on Sunday.

The Jam Tarts are coming off a 2-1 home defeat against Hibernian last time out in the Scottish Premiership. They took the lead through Peter Haring’s first half strike but were unable to hold on for the win.

Hearts overcame Championship team Partick Thistle 2-1 to book their place in the last four of the Scottish FA Cup. Craig Levin's men have won five of their last seven FA Cup matches and are set at odds of 1.44 to claim the victory on Saturday. 

Top scorer Steven Naismith is still sidelined with injury but Hearts should still have enough quality to get past Inverness. Uche Ikpeazu has scored two goals in his last four matches while midfielder Sean Clare has found the net three times in his last six appearances.

Inverness earned a 1-0 victory away at Ayr United in a Scottish Championship fixture on Saturday with Brad McKay getting the goal. They reached the semi final of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 victory over Championship rivals Dundee United.

John Robertson's men have not been at their best in recent matches having failed to win in two of their last three matches. They are priced at 8.00 to secure a victory on Saturday while a draw is valued at odds of 4.00.

Jordan White often leads the line for Inverness but the striker has scored just one goal in his last six appearances. He is usually joined in attack by Nathan Austin who is currently on a 10-match goal drought.

Hearts have 15 wins and 13 draws while Inverness have claimed nine victories in 37 previous matches. Both teams met in the Scottish League Cup in the 2017-18 season with Hearts claiming a 5-0 triumph.

Ikpeazu will be the one to watch for Hearts having scored twice in his last four matches. With Clare contributing three goals in six matches from midfield, Levin's team should have too much quality.

Inverness are not particularly prolific in attack but Hearts tend to give their opponents a chance having conceded eight goals in their last five matches. The Premiership team should encounter some problems from Austin and White but should still have the edge due to their extra bit of quality up front.

Hearts are expected to have the edge in Saturday's clash but their poor defence means they are likely to concede. I am predicting an outcome of over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.85 with Hearts tipped to secure the win.
