Stirling Albion vs Hearts Predictions

Stirling Albion have been inconsistent in the Scottish League Cup and they are poor at home. Hearts have won their first two matches in Group A comfortably and they rarely concede.

I am tipping a Hearts 2-0 win against Stirling Albion.

  • Stirling Albion have lost 6 of their last 9 matches (Scottish League Cup)
  • Hearts have won 6 of their last 8 matches (Scottish League Cup)
  • Hearts have won to nil in 5 of their last 6 matches (all competitions)

Head-to-Head

Stirling Albion and Hearts have one win each in three previous meetings with one draw.

Hearts beat Stirling Albion 2-0 in the 2007/08 Scottish Cup on their last visit to the Forthbank Stadium.

Stirling Albion Form

Stirling Albion have taken five points from six available in their opening two League Cup fixtures.

The Binos beat Cove Rangers 3-2 away before a 2-2 draw at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Albion gained a bonus point after beating Inverness 3-2 on penalties.

Albion raced to a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes as Dylan Mackin and Keiran Moore opened the scoring. They then came under heavy pressure, conceded two goals either side of halftime, and had just 35% possession.

The result extended Albion’s unbeaten run to three matches.

Home form has been an issue for Kevin Rutkiewicz’s side, however. They are winless in their last five at the Forthbank Stadium.

Stirling Albion Injuries & Team News

Striker Dale Carrick, defender Ross McGeachie and midfielder Kurtis Roberts returned to action against Inverness CT.

Midfielder Ray Grant could be in contention following a recent injury.

Hearts Form

Hearts lost 2-0 at home to Sunderland in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, their first defeat in eight matches.

Robbie Neilson’s side started poorly and goalkeeper Ross Stewart conceded an early penalty that Sunderland scored. Hearts responded positively and had the ball for long periods, but they struggled to break down the Black Cats.

Hearts conceded again just before halftime and tried to force their way back into the match. Connor Smith came closest to a consolation goal, hitting the post with 10 minutes remaining.

Neilson made several changes to his starting XI and is expected to return to a more settled line-up against Stirling.

Hearts have been in excellent form and kept eight consecutive clean sheets before the Sunderland loss.

Hearts Injuries & Team News

Robbie Neilson rested key players Craig Gordon, Stephen Kingsley and Josh Ginnelly against Sunderland. The trio should return to the starting XI against Stirling.

Hearts have no injuries or suspensions.
