Aberdeen will be keen to return to winning ways against a badly out-of-form Livingston. I´m taking the Dons to win a likely low-scoring contest at Pittodrie.

Wednesday´s match will be the 18th Premiership encounter between these sides since 2018. Aberdeen claimed the spoils on ten occasions, while Livingston have won four of 17 previous league matches over the past five years.

The Dons edged to a 1-0 win when last hosting Livingston at Pittodrie in February earlier this year.

Aberdeen return to Pittodrie after a disappointing 1-0 League Cup final defeat against Rangers on Sunday. In a match of few chances, the Dons were unable to claim their first piece of silverware since 2014.

Barry Robson´s men had enjoyed a positive couple of weeks before Sunday's setback, after picking up back-to-back home victories against Hearts and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Domestically, the Dons have disappointed and remain tenth in the Premiership, five points above visiting Livingston.

Robson has no fresh injury concerns after Sunday's cup final loss but is expected to freshen up his selection. Dante Polvara and Duk are both in contention for a recall to the Dons XI.

Livingston Form

Livingston finally broke a miserable losing streak with a hard-fought goalless draw against Kilmarnock last weekend. David Martinadale´s men had lost seven Premiership matches on the bounce before Saturday's point gained.

Cut adrift at the bottom of the division, with only 11 points collected from 16 games, Livi have failed to score in their last seven league matches.

Particularly poor on their travels, Livingston have only taken five points from their last 16 away matches since January.

Livi boss Martindale is likely to make at least one change to the visitor's selection. Sean Kelly is set to miss out after being withdrawn midway through Saturday's draw with Kilmarnock. Former Dons forward Bruce Anderson is likely to deputise.

Despite the disappointment of Sunday´s League Cup final defeat, I expect Aberdeen to claim the points on Wednesday. I'm taking the Dons to win in a game with less than three goals scored.
