Celtic vs Aberdeen Predictions

With both teams in such great form, an entertaining contest with plenty of chances at both ends is expected.

I'm putting my money on BTTS and over 2.5 goals at Parkhead this weekend.

  • Celtic have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches
  • Celtic have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 5 home matches
  • Celtic have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 matches against Aberdeen
  • Aberdeen have seen over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches against Celtic
  • Aberdeen have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches

Head to Head

Celtic and Aberdeen have faced each other on 44 occasions over the past decade. Celtic won 35 of those matches while Aberdeen picked up just three wins.

Celtic Form

Celtic extended their perfect winning start in the Premiership to seven matches with a dramatic comeback victory against Ross County a fortnight ago. Late goals from Alastair Johnston and Nicholas Kuhn secured a 2-1 win for Brendan Rodgers's side.

The Hoops had suffered their joint-worst-ever defeat in the Champions League three days earlier - a 7-1 loss against Dortmund.

So strong at Parkhead, Celtic won 17 and lost just one of their last 20 Premiership matches on Glasgow's east side.

Celtic Team News

Brendan Rodgers has a couple of injury absentees this weekend. Cameron Carter-Vickers is closing in on a return to the squad but is not yet available while Greg Taylor is ruled out with a groin injury. Alex Valle will replace the Scottish fullback.

Aberdeen Form

Aberdeen arrive in Glasgow in sensational form after a remarkable 13 successive victories picked up under new boss Jimmy Thelin.

The Dons extended their winning sequence in the Premiership to seven matches with a fabulous 3-2 comeback victory against Hearts a fortnight ago. Ante Palaversa's first goal for the club secured an impressive win for the Dons.

On the road, Aberdeen are unbeaten in their last nine matches since a 1-0 defeat at Dundee last March.

Aberdeen Team News

Dons boss Thelin has been dealt a blow with the loss of top scorer Pape Habib Gueye, who has been ruled out until the new year.

Dante Polvara also remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Verdict

Saturday's top-of-the-table clash should see plenty of goal-scoring action.

I'm backing BTTS and over 2.5 goals on Saturday.
