Hearts vs Celtic Predictions

Celtic can maintain their outstanding form with another road victory on Saturday.

I'm backing an away win with at least two goals scored.

  • Hearts lost 3 of their last 4 matches
  • Hearts lost 8 of their last 12 matches (Premiership)
  • Hearts lost 12 of their last 14 matches against Celtic
  • Celtic scored 2+ goals in 10 of their last 12 matches against Hearts
  • Celtic won 9 of their last 10 away matches
  • Celtic scored 2+ goals in 12 of their last 13 away matches

Head to Head

Hearts and Celtic have met on 39 previous occasions over the past decade. Celtic claimed 32 victories while Hearts emerged on top just five times.

The Jambos did score a surprise 2-0 win when they last hosted Celtic in March.

Hearts Form

Hearts come into Saturday's contest after a narrow 1-0 defeat at Rangers a fortnight ago. The Jambos have lost both of their last two matches following a 2-0 home reversal three days before their defeat at Ibrox.

At Tynecastle, Hearts have failed to win four of five league games played this season, including a 2-1 reversal against Kilmarnock in their most recent home Premiership match.

The Edinburgh-based side remain in deep trouble in the Premiership. Critchley's men sit 11th in the 12-team division with only nine points collected from 13 matches.

Hearts Team News

Hearts boss Critchley has no new injury issues ahead of Saturday's return to Premiership action. Injured trio Calem Nieuwenhof, Gerald Taylor and Yutaro Oda remain sidelined.

Celtic Form

Celtic arrive in Edinburgh after extending their winning run to five matches with a 2-0 win at Kilmarnock two weeks ago. Goals from Calum McGregor and Nicholas Kuhn secured an eighth successive road victory for Brendan Rodgers's side.

An outstanding run of form sees Celtic unbeaten in their last 20 Premiership matches since a 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle last March. The Hoops won 18 of those 20 fixtures.

Eleven games into the season, the Scottish champions sit at the top of the division, level with Aberdeen on 31 points.

Celtic Team News

Head coach Rodgers has a near-fully fit squad to choose from on Saturday. Odin Thiago Holm is the only player not available for the visitors.

Verdict

Another Celtic away win has to be expected on Saturday evening.

I'm putting my money on Celtic to win with a minimum of two goals scored.
