An entertaining and likely competitive contest can be expected at Hampden Park.

Rangers return to domestic duty after a morale-boosting 1-1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Dinamo Kyiv. Cyriel Dessers' dramatic stoppage-time intervention, with what proved to be the final kick of the game, kept the Gers' hopes alive ahead of the return leg at Hampden next Tuesday.

Tuesday's positive result came after a frustrating goalless draw against Hearts in the opening weekend of their Premiership campaign.

With Ibrox Stadium currently under reconstruction, Phillipe Clement's side now face their first fixture in their temporary home at Hampden Park.

Rangers picked up no further injury issues after Tuesday's trip to Poland. Oscar Cortes and Nico Raskin remain injury absentees for the Gers.

Brazilian wingback Jefte should earn a start after an impressive cameo against Dinamo. Under-performing wideman Scott Wright is expected to drop out of the first XI.

Motherwell Form

Motherwell arrive at Scotland's National Stadium looking to improve on an uninspiring goalless draw against Ross County last weekend. The Well also drew a blank in their previous outing against Partick Thistle at the end of July.

Stuart Kettlewell's side showed some decent form on the road last season. Motherwell won four and lost only three of their previous 11 away Premiership encounters, including a 2-1 win against Rangers at Ibrox.

Defensively vulnerable, though, the Well failed to keep a clean sheet in 16 of their last 17 away Premiership fixtures.

Head coach Kettlewell has several injury issues to deal with this weekend. Sam Nicholson is the latest to join a lengthy list of expected absentees including Ross Callachan, Shane Blaney and Lennon Miller.
