Roma haven’t lost a single Serie A match since mid-December, and I believe they can hold in-form Atalanta to a draw on Monday. Both sides would benefit from that outcome in their race for UCL spots.

Atalanta are very close to clinching a spot in the Champions League next season, currently sitting in 3rd place in Serie A with 68 points after 35 rounds.

They recovered from a 1-0 home loss to Lazio in early April by earning two straight victories against Bologna 2-0 (Mateo Retegui and Mario Pasalic on target) and AC Milan 1-0 (Ederson the sole scorer).

After a bit disappointing 1-1 draw against Lecce in Bergamo, La Dea returned to winning ways last weekend with a convincing 4-0 road win at Monza, Charles De Ketelaere scoring a brace, Ademola Lookman and Marco Brascianini also on target.

Roma are one of the hottest teams in Italy right now, unbeaten for 19 games straight in Serie A (14 wins, 2 draws) which moved them up to 5th place, one point short of 4th Juventus.

Claudio Ranieri’s side started the last month with two consecutive 1-1 draws against Juventus and Lazio, but then claimed two 1-0 victories against Verona and Inter Milan, Matias Soule and Eldor Shomurodov scoring two goals each in these encounters.

Roma’s incredible streak was extended last weekend with a 1-0 home win against Fiorentina, Artem Dovbyk finding the net just before the break to secure points.

Team News

For Atalanta, Ademola Lookman is doubtful due to an inflamed Achilles tendon. Stefan Posch is also a doubt with a thigh issue. Gianluca Scamacca, Juan Cuadrado, Sead Kolasinac and Giorgio Scalvini are all ruled out until next season, while Isak Hien is suspended. Marten de Roon may have to drop into the back line.

Roma are still missing Paulo Dybala and now also captain Lorenzo Pellegrini due to a muscular injury.
