Juventus have a great chance to tighten their grip on another Serie A title as they host Lecce at Allianz Stadium. Lecce’s defence has been leaking goals at an alarming rate with another flogging a firm chance on Friday night.

Juventus are four points clear of Lazio at the top of Serie A and looking good for their ninth straight title. Maurizio Sarri’s side drew 0-0 at home draw against AC Milan to reach the Coppa Italia final. 

They took on Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico in the final, another 0-0 draw resulting in a penalty shootout. Napoli got the better of Gianluigi Buffon to claim the title.

Juventus returned to Serie A duty and won 2-0 at Bologna. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot and Paulo Dybala extended the lead before half time. 

The Old Lady have won 12 of their last 13 home matches in Serie A and kept four consecutive clean sheets in all competitions.

Right back Danilo was sent off late in Bologna and is suspended. Full back Mattia De Sciglio and left back Alex Sandro are injured which means Blaise Matuidi could start at left back.

Central defender Merih Demiral is injured and fellow centre back Giorgio Chiellini is unfit. Midfielder Sami Khedira and striker Gonzalo Higuaín are inured.

Lecce Form


Lecce have suffered three straight defeats to slip into the relegation zone. Fabio Liverani’s side returned to Serie A for the first time in seven years this season but are in terrible form.

Lecce lost 4-0 at Roma and 7-2 at home against Atalanta before the break. They returned to action with a 4-1 home defeat against AC Milan.

Marco Mancosu’s penalty made it 1-1 in the 54th minute but they were 3-1 down in the 57th minute after conceding two quick goals. Lecca managed 39% possession and only one shot on target.

Lecce have now conceded 15 goals in their last three matches and lost by 2+ goals in five of their last six away matches in Serie A.
