HTH
Roma have won six of the last nine encounters to lead Genoa 60-38 in the head to head.
They last met in November, a 1-1 draw in Genoa to make it 27 draws.
Roma Form
Roma had a poor start to the season which saw Daniele De Rossi sacked and replaced by Ivan Juric. Juric lasted until November when the club hired 73-year-old Claudio Ranieri.
Ranieri took some time to get going but has now guided the club to five straight home wins. They scored 18 goals in that run with just two conceded.
I Giallorossi’s previous home game ended in a 2-0 win against cross city rivals Lazio. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Alexis Saelemaekers scored in the opening 18 minutes as they ended the contest with 33% possession.
Roma earned a hard fought 2-2 draw at Bologna on Sunday. Saelemaekers opened the scoring but they needed a 97th minute penalty from Artem Dovbyk to take a point.
Genoa Form
Genoa won one of their opening ten matches in Serie A which saw Alberto Gilardino sacked in November. Patrick Vieira became the new manager and went unbeaten in his opening four games.
Il Grifone saw the run come to an end in a 2-1 defeat against high flying Napoli. They ended the year with a 2-1 win at Empoli where Nicola Leali saved a penalty.
Genoa started the year with a 0-0 draw at Lecce where they had one shot on target. They beat Parma 1-0 at home on Sunday, Morten Frendrup scoring in a deserved victory.
Verdict
Roma have won five straight at home with 18 goals scored. Genoa’s attack struggles on the road, Roma set to make it six straight wins at Stadio Olimpico.
