Udinese are no longer in the European contention after losing their last five appearances in Serie A, currently sitting in 11th place far from the relegation race.
The Zebras looked solid in their 2-1 loss to Inter Milan at Guiseppe Meazza in late March, but started this month with back to back defeats to Genoa 1-0 and AC Milan 4-0.
Kosta Runjaic’s side failed to recover last weekend, extending this awful run with a 2-0 road loss at Torino, ending that match with 0.84-1.04 expected goals, 56% possession and 10-10 shots.
Bologna Form
Bologna have been on a fantastic run recently, securing six victories in their last eight top flight appearances and moved up to desired 4th place.
Rossoblu faced three serious opponents in April, starting with a 1-1 draw against Napoli, followed by a 2-0 loss to Atalanta in Bergamo. They returned to winning ways last weekend by beating title contenders Inter Milan 1-0 at home, Riccardo Orsolini scoring a screamer in stoppage time.
Vincenzo Italiano’s side is also doing great in Coppa Italia, eliminating Empoli 5-1 on aggregate in the semifinals and will battle AC Milan for the trophy in mid-May. Thijs Dalling scored three times in those encounters.
Team News
Lorenzo Lucca (calf) and Florian Thauvin (foot) are injured for the hosts, while Jaka Bijol is suspended. Jordan Zemura and Isaak Toure are also unavailable.
As for the visitors, Lukasz Skorupski, Davide Calabria, and Lewis Ferguson are fit again and could feature on Monday. Emil Holm and Nicolo Casale remain sidelined.
