Downs last played a week ago. They outshot Golden Arrows 19-6 but could only draw 1-1 against former coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Coach Miguel Cardoso hopes to have goalkeeper Ronwen Williams back from injury. Khuliso Mudau is set to start at right back after a rest.

Themba Zwane and Rivaldo Coetzee are out injured. Sundowns may rotate their XI with one eye on their weekend fixture vs Orlando Pirates.
