Atletico Madrid Form

Atletico Madrid have found wins hard to come by, recently going six matches without a victory. They went out in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, a 4-4 draw in Barcelona followed by a 1-0 home defeat in the second leg.

Diego Simeone’s side went close against local rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16. Losing the first leg 2-1, Conor Gallagher scored early at home in the second leg to secure a 1-0 win, the tie going to a penalty shootout where Julián Álvarez and Marcos Llorente failed to convert from the spot.

Los Colchoneros got back to winning ways at Sevilla last time out, win 2-1 after overturning an early deficit. Julián Alvarez equalised before the break and Pablo Barrios netted from the edge of the box in added time.

Real Valladolid Form

Real Valladolid's season has been marred by instability and poor performances. They have lost 10 of their previous 11 matches and are unsurprisingly rooted the bottom of the table.

The Blanquivioletas have the worst defence in La Liga, conceding 69 goals in 30 games, 22 of those ending in defeat. Added to a porous backline, they also have the weakest attack with only 19 goals scored.

Manager Paulo Pezzolano was sacked in November after a 0-5 defeat to Atlético Madrid. Diego Cocca's tenure was brief and Álvaro Rubio has been at the helm since February.
