Osasuna vs Deportivo Alaves Predictions & Tips - Low scoring draw predicted in La Liga

Osasuna are winless at home in four La Liga matches while Deportivo Alaves have lost their last two on the road. Neither side have been free-scoring so we're backing a low scoring draw for this one.

Osasuna and Deportivo Alaves are level at 10-10 in their 23 previous encounters. There have been three draws.

Their last competitive match took place in June 2020 where Osasuna won 1-0 at Deportivo Alaves.

Osasuna find themselves in the relegation zone of La Liga on 12 points from their 14 matches. They have won three and drawn three, but the eight defeats will be cause for concern.

Jagoba Arrasate’s side were unfortunate to lose 3-2 at Real Valladolid a few matches ago. After going behind early they scored twice to take the lead but then conceded two second half goals.

That performance gave them confidence though as Osasuna destroyed Tomares 6-0 away in the Copa del Rey. Their return to league action was not what they had hoped for as they went down 3-1 at home to Villarreal. Osasuna had to play 70 minutes with 10 men after Aridane was sent off early.

Osasuna’s last match was at fellow relegation strugglers Elche. It ended 2-2 after Ruben Garcia gave the visitors the lead only for Elche to level just after the break. Darko Brasanac gave Osasuna the lead again but they conceded 12 minutes from the end to see the points shared.

Osasuna welcome centre-back Aridane Hernandez back from suspension and he should start ahead of Unai Garcia.

Left-back Inigo Perez is however suspended after being sent off in the last match. There have been doubts about central midfielder Darkgo Brasanac fitness but he has been passed fit to start.

Deportivo Alaves will be reasonably pleased with their first 15 matches of La Liga. They currently sit 13th in the table but are only three points clear of the bottom three. 

Alaves produced one of the results of the season as they won 2-1 at Real Madrid at the end of November. It was a stunning result and the backed it up with a 0-0 draw at home against the high-flying Real Sociedad.

Unfortunately that was followed by a 1-0 loss at Huesca before winning 2-0 at Rincon in the Copa del Rey. Deportivo Alaves then traveled to Celta Vigo where they went down 2-0 as the hosts struck in each half.

In their last match, Alaves won 2-1 at home against relegation threatened Eibar. Eibar took a fourth minute lead but Edgar Mendez leveled matters in the 41st minute. Four minutes late Deyverson put Deportivo Alaves into the lead, and that proved to be the winner.

Deportivo Alaves will be without left-back Ruben Duarte until the new year with a sprained knee. Midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia is suspended and Pere Pons is still out with a broken toe. Manu Garcia and Tomas Pina should take feature in the engine room.
