After earning a 2-1 victory against Atletico Madrid in the UCL Round of 16 on Tuesday (with Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz on target), Real Madrid return to their La Liga title race, where they sit in 3rd place, three points behind leaders Barcelona.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side has struggled in the Spanish top flight recently. After back-to-back 1-1 draws against Atletico Madrid and Osasuna, Los Blancos claimed three points at home with a 2-0 win over Girona in late February.

However, they suffered another setback in early March, losing 2-1 to Real Betis in Sevilla last weekend despite taking the lead through Brahim Diaz just ten minutes in.

Real Madrid have been performing well in the Spanish Cup, though, winning the first leg of their semifinal against Real Sociedad 1-0 ten days ago.

Rayo Vallecano Form

Rayo Vallecano remain in the European contention race, sitting 7th in La Liga with 36 points from 26 matches.

Their recent form hasn’t been that great though. After back-to-back 1-0 victories against Leganes and Real Valladolid, the Red Sashes suffered consecutive defeats to Barcelona and Villarreal by the same scoreline in mid-February.

They were close to beating Sevilla at home last weekend, taking a 1-0 lead early in the second half through Andre Ratiu, but Dodi Lukebakio equalized in the 81st minute. Rayo dominated the match, finishing with 2.57-0.57 expected goals, 64% possession, and a 20-10 shot advantage.

Jude Bellingham is finally available once again after serving a three-game suspension in La Liga. Eder Militao, Dani Ceballos, Dani Carvajal and Jesus Vallejo are injured.
