Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois remains out injured alongside defender Éder Militão.

Midfielders Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga and forward Vinícius Júnior has a muscle injury.

Villarreal Form

Villarreal had a poor start to the season which saw Quique Setién sacked. Pacheta became the new boss, lasting just 12 games in charge before Marcelino returned to the club.

Marcelino has had seven games in charge, going undefeated in his first five before a 3-0 defeat against Real Sociedad. They had 2.37-2.20 expected goals and can consider themselves unlucky.

Villarreal are coming off a dramatic 3-2 win at Rennes in the Europa League which saw them snatch top spot in Group F. Gerard Moreno scored and assisted in a man of the match performance.

Attacking midfielder Denis Suárez, winger Yéremy Pino and striker Alexander Sorloth are all battling injuries.
