Khujand began the season with a 3-1 win at CSKA Pomir. Andrey Sidorov and Khurshed Beknazarov gave them a 2-0 lead with a Manuchekhr Akhmedov penalty sealing the deal in the 90th minute.

Nikola Lazarevic’s side suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Khatlon last time out. They were 2-0 down at half time with a Sanzhar Rikhsiboev strike getting them back in the game in the 48th minute.

Khujand fell behind again with Dilshod Bozorov’s goal too little too late. Khujand have lost three of their last four matches in the Tajikistan Vysshaya Liga stretching back to last season.
