Blackburn vs Swansea Predictions

Blackburn face an in-form Swansea side which has won five of their last six away games. The Swans are tipped to win.

  • Blackburn have lost 6 of their last 8 matches (Championship).
  • Blackburn have lost 2 of their last 3 home matches (Championship).
  • Swansea have won 6 of their last 8 matches (Championship).
  • Swansea have won 5 of their last 6 away matches (all competitions).
  • Swansea's Andre Ayew has scored 4 goals in his last 3 matches (Championship).

In 44 previous meetings between the two sides, Blackburn have a 22-15 advantage over Swansea and seven games have been drawn.

Swansea won the reverse fixture 2-0 in October. Despite an even game, headers from Ben Cabango and Andre Ayew either side of half-time earned the Swans all three points at the Liberty Stadium.

Blackburn Form

Blackburn ended a seven-match run without a win on Saturday as Tony Mowbray’s side beat Millwall 2-0.

Goals from Bradley Dack and Sam Gallagher either side of half-time earned Rovers a deserved victory at the Den.

Blackburn have now won once in their last eight games, lost six and drawn one. The result against Millwall also capped Blackburn’s first clean sheet in eight games.

Tony Mowbray’s side are winless in three straight matches at Ewood Park and have only won one of their last seven at home.

Rovers have kept just one clean sheet at home in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Blackburn Injuries & Team News

Blackburn’s top scorer Adam Armstrong may return for the Swansea match after missing the 2-0 win over Millwall at the weekend.

Defensive duo Daniel Ayala and Scott Wharton are still out injured and midfielder Lewis Holtby is a doubt after a knee injury.

Tony Mowbray made six changes to his side for the win at Millwall and he may opt for the same starting XI against Swansea if Armstrong is unavailable.

Swansea Form

Swansea secured back-to-back wins for the first time since early February last weekend as they edged past Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

The Swans were heading for a 1-0 win after Andre Ayew struck just before half-time. Sam Morsy equalised for Boro in the 91st minute before Ayew scored the winner for Swansea with a 96th minute penalty.

Swansea have now won six of their last eight matches in the Championship and remain third in the league.

Steve Cooper's side have impressed away from home recently and won five of their last six on the road in all competitions.

Swansea Injuries & Team News

Swansea forwards Wayne Routledge, Jordan Morris and Liam Cullen are unlikely to feature against Blackburn.

Defender Ryan Bennett and goalkeeper Steven Benda are also ruled out.

Steve Cooper made one change to his side for the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough as Conor Hourihane replaced Jamal Lowe to facilitate a slight tactical shift from 3-5-2 to 3-4-2-1.
