Blackburn are looking to continue their superb form when they host troubled Wigan in an EFL Championship fixture at Ewood Park. Rovers are eyeing a playoff place and should make light work of Wigan who are in a battle for survival down at the bottom of the table.

Blackburn Form

Blackburn earned a 2-0 victory at Bristol City in their previous Championship fixture. They were comfortable throughout the contest with Bradley Johnson opening the scoring early in the first half while Adam Armstrong added the second.

Rovers have flown up the table in recent weeks with four wins from their last five matches moving them to within one point of the playoff places. Tony Mowbray’s men are also on a four-match winning run at home having claimed victories over fellow playoff contenders Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday.

Blackburn News

Top scorer Bradley Dack is set to return to the team after serving a one match suspension last time out.  Sam Hart, Jacob Davenport and Joe Grayson are all nursing injuries and are doubtful for Monday’s clash.

Wigan Form

Wigan played out a 1-1 home draw with Huddersfield Town last time out in the Championship. They took the lead two minutes before the break through Josh Windass but were pegged back by the Terriers midway through the second half.

The Latics are having a poor campaign this season and are second from bottom on the table, two points from safety. Paul Cook’s men have suffered five defeats in their last eight outings.

Wigan News

Wigan are without centre back Danny Fox who is sidelined till the new year with a groin injury. Midfielder Anthony Pilkington is likely to be given a start after playing as a substitute against Huddersfield on his return from injury while top scorer Chey Dunkley is also expected to start having sat out last week’s defeat.

Blackburn vs Wigan Head to Head

Blackburn have 12 wins and six draws while Wigan have claimed seven victories from 25 previous matches. Rovers have won two of the last three meetings at Ewood Park, including a 3-0 Championship victory back in March with Danny Graham netting a brace while Bradley Dack added the third.

Blackburn vs Wigan Betting Odds

Blackburn are favourites to claim the win at odds of 1.75 while Wigan are priced at 4.75 for an unlikely victory at Ewood Park with a draw set at odds of 3.75. There has been over 2.5 goals in the last three meetings and Monday’s clash is tipped at 2.00 with BTTS valued at 1.83.

Having kept clean sheets in their last two home matches, Blackburn are priced at 2.88 for a win to nil while a -1 handicap is also offered at 2.88 at bet365.

Blackburn vs Wigan Match Up

Blackburn will be pleased to have top scorer Bradley Dack back in the team having scored 10 goals this season. The midfielder was also on target against Wigan last season and should combine well with Adam Armstrong, who has found the net twice in his last three appearances.

Wigan have had problems in attack this season with centre back Chey Dunkley the top scorer with five goals. Kieffer Moore and Joe Garner often partner in attack but both men have combined for just three goals this season.
