Bournemouth v Watford Predictions

Watford come into this game in excellent form, having won four straight matches in the Championship. Bournemouth have suffered back-to-back defeats and have won twice in their last 10.

The visitors are tipped to continue their winning ways, with both teams to score also predicted.

  • Bournemouth have lost 6 of their last 10 matches (Championship).
  • Bournemouth have lost 3 of their last 5 home matches (Championship).
  • Bournemouth have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches (Championship).
  • Watford have won their last 4 matches (Championship).
  • Watford have won 3 of last 5 away matches (Championship).
  • Watford have scored 12 goals in their last 4 matches (Championship).

Out of 118 fixtures played between the two sides, Watford hold a 41-38 advantage over Bournemouth with 39 games drawn.

The reverse fixture between the two sides at Vicarage Road in October ended in a 1-1 draw.

Chris Mepham scored a stoppage time equaliser for the Cherries after Stipe Perica’s first half strike for Watford.

Bournemouth Form

Bournemouth have lost six of their last ten Championship matches. Just two wins in this time has seen the Cherries drop to seventh in the league in recent weeks.

Jonathan Woodgate’s side have lost back-to-back games following successive 2-1 defeats to QPR and Cardiff in the past week.

After a strong start to the season at home, losing just one of their opening 11 matches at the Vitality, Bournemouth have now lost three of their last five.

Bournemouth Injuries and Team News

Forward Dominic Solanke and midfielder David Brooks are the only absentees for Bournemouth.

Jonathan Woodgate made three changes in the 2-1 loss to Cardiff in midweek as Jack Wilshire, Shane Long and Chris Mepham were benched.

Mepham and Wilshire could replace Lloyd Kelly and Diego Rico, respectively, this weekend after poor performances against Cardiff.

Watford Form

Watford extended their winning run in the Championship to four matches in midweek after beating Blackburn 3-2 away.

The Hornets have now won back-to-back away games for the first time this season, with a 1-0 win away at Preston preceding the Blackburn result.

Watford have also recorded two wins at home in the last four games, a 6-0 victory over Bristol City and a 2-1 success against Derby.

Watford have lost just one game in their last 10 Championship matches and dropped five points from the last 30 available.

The run has seen Watford jump to third place in the Championship. Xisco Munoz’s side have also scored 12 goals in their last four games and conceded three.

Watford Injuries and Team News

Watford captain Troy Deeney and goalkeeper Ben Foster are still unavailable due to injury.

Winger Isaac Success is still recovering from an ACL injury and remains out until late March. Midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru is also out until the end of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Defender Nathan Chalobah was not named in the squad against Blackburn and remains doubtful ahead of the Bournemouth match.

Xisco also started Francisco Sierralta ahead of Craig Cathcart in midweek, but the latter is set to return to the starting line-up this weekend.
