Fulham and Brentford fight for a coveted position in the Premier League on Tuesday. These clubs finished level on points in the Championship this season and a close match is expected in the playoff final at Wembley Stadium.

Brentford won eight consecutive matches in the Championship to storm into automatic promotion contention. The Bees needed to win one their final two matches but fell to a 1-0 defeat at Stoke and 2-1 loss against relegation threatened Barnsley.

Thomas Frank’s side recorded their third straight defeat in a 1-0 first leg loss at Swansea in the playoffs. They were in the game but found it tough after Rico Henry was sent off after 65 minutes.

Brentford bounced back in style with a 3-1 win in their last match at Griffin Park. Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Marcondes scored inside the opening 15 minutes and Bryan Mbeumo made it 3-0.

Saïd Benrahma had another man of the match performance, registering an assist and hitting the woodwork twice.

Fulham fell to a 2-1 home defeat in the second leg despite having 61% possession and 21-13 shots. Kebano equalised early on for his fifth goal in four matches.
