Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Hull City will be looking to keep their playoff hopes alive when they host Queens Park Rangers in Saturday’s EFL Championship clash. Nigel Adkins’ men have a good record at the KCOM Stadium while QPR tend to struggle on the road. A Hull City win is tipped at 2.00 with Jarrod Bowen among the scorers.

Hull City AFC Form & Team News

Hull City have won nine, drawn four and lost five home EFL Championship matches in 2018/19. This impressive record has been helped in no small part by Jarrod Bowen’s tremendous form at the KCOM Stadium.

Bowen has scored five goals in his last four home appearances for the Tigers. The 22 year old is the Championship’s sixth highest scorer with 19 goals.

Hull lost their last match 3-2 away to Championship leaders Norwich City but will welcome the opportunity to play on home soil again. Nigel Adkins‘ side sit just six points behind sixth-placed Derby County and still have an outside chance of promotion.

Queens Park Rangers FC Form & Team News

Queens Park Rangers are desperate to turn their fortunes around after seven defeats in their last nine fixtures. Their most recent match ended in a 2-1 home defeat to Rotherham.

QPR’s away record in 2018/19 leaves a lot to be desired. Steve McClaren’s men have lost 10 of 19 Championship matches on the road. The former England manager admitted that his team is in a rush to get to 50 points as the relegation battle heats up.

McClaren also bemoaned the absence of Geoff Cameron and Angel Rangel. The pair have been sidelined by long term injuries and neither has played since December’s defeat to Leeds United.

Queens Park Rangers can be backed to win on Saturday at 3.60 with a draw paying 3.50. The odds are against them largely due to Hull’s home advantage.

Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers Head-to-Head

Hull City won the reverse fixture 3-2 thanks to a brace from Jarrod Bowen and a goal from Markus Henriksen. It was their second win in a row over Queens Park Rangers after a 4-0 drubbing at the KCOM Stadium last season.

Hull have won 18 past league encounters against QPR with 16 draws and 11 wins for the London side.

Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers Match Up

Jarrod Bowen is the main threat for Hull City having already scored 19 Championship goals. He will be up against a QPR side which has conceded 57 league goals - the fourth most in the Championship.
