Leeds vs Reading Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Leeds are aiming to build some momentum as they host Reading in an English Championship fixture at Elland Road. The Whites still have hopes of securing the Championship title and should make light work of Reading.

Leeds Form

Leeds regained some much-needed confidence as they claimed a 1-0 home victory over Bristol City in their last Championship fixture. They took a first half lead through Luke Ayling and were able to hold on for the win.

The Whites will hope to build some momentum as they sit four points off top spot on the table. Marcelo Bielsa’s men are usually solid at Elland Road and head into Saturday’s match with two wins in their last three home matches.

Leeds News

Midfielder Adam Forshaw has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. Tyler Roberts and Robbie Gotts remain unavailable for the Whites while Patrick Bamford is expected to continue in attack as he looks to add to his 12 goals this season.

Reading Form

Reading claimed a rare win in their last Championship fixture as they triumphed 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday. Efforts from Yakou Meite and George Puscas gave them a two-goal lead before Sam Baldock added the third in injury time.

The result ended a run of seven matches without a win for the Royals who have struggled in recent weeks. Mark Bowen’s men have lost to West Brom and Bristol City in that run with a 2-0 defeat to Millwall also among their recent results.

Reading News

Matt Miazga, Chris Gunter and Lucas Joao are all expected to miss Saturday’s match through injury. Tom McIntyre, Lucas Boye and Ayub Masika are all rated as doubtful and unlikely to be risked at Elland Road.

Leeds vs Reading Head to Head

Leeds have seven wins and eight draws while Reading have claimed six victories from 21 previous matches. Leeds have the upper hand in recent meetings having won the last three fixtures.

Leeds earned a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture at the Madejski Stadium with Jack Harrison getting the goal.

Leeds vs Reading Betting Odds

Leeds are short priced for the win with Unibet offering odds of 1.30. William Hill is offering 12.00 for a Reading win while a draw is set at odds of 5.50 at bet365. Leeds have kept clean sheets in their last three matches against Reading which places a win to nil at 2.00 while a -1 handicap is offered at 1.80 at Paddy Power.

Leeds vs Reading Match Up

Leeds looked back to their old selves against Bristol City as they gave away little at the back. They will be hopeful of shutting out the Reading forward line while Patrick Bamford will carry the attacking threat having scored twice in the last three home matches.

Reading have been heavily dependent on Yakou Meite in recent weeks, although he has scored just once in his last three matches. He is likely to struggle against the Leeds backline that looked impressive last time out.
