QPR vs Brentford Predictions

QPR have gone from being unable to win, to winning four of their last five. Can they can continue that run against promotion-chasing Brentford in a London derby?

Brentford's 21-game unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end with defeat at home to Barnsley on Sunday. Expect a reaction from the Bees, who can take all three points.

  • QPR have lost 4 of their last 6 home matches (Championship).
  • QPR have lost their last 4 matches against Brentford (Championship).
  • QPR have seen BTTS in their last 4 home matches against Brentford (Championship).
  • Brentford have won 4 of their last 5 matches (Championship).
  • Brentford are undefeated in 21 of their last 22 matches (Championship).
  • Brentford have seen over 3.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches (Championship).

Head to Head

Brentford have had the better of their London rivals with 30 wins to QPR's 23. There have also been 24 draws in 77 previous meetings.

The Bees have won the last four clashes, including doing the double last season with two 3-1 wins.

Goals from Vitaly Janelt and Ivan Toney earned a 2-1 win this season in the reserve fixture.

QPR Form

QPR have put a 10-game winless run firmly behind them with Mark Warburton's side winning four of their last five matches.

The latest was a 1-0 victory over Blackburn a week ago. Defender Yoann Barbet got the only goal of the game.

That win followed away victories over Luton 2-0, Cardiff 1-0 and Watford 2-1.

The only blemish in the last five matches was a 1-0 loss at home to strugglers Derby at Loftus Road.

QPR's game against Rotherham on Saturday was called off due to a frozen pitch.

QPR Team News

Forward Lyndon Dykes is a doubt after suffering a head injury late in the win over Blackburn.

Midfielders Luke Amos and Tom Carroll are both ruled out with injuries.

Brentford Form

Brentford's long 21-game unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end on Sunday when Barnsley were 2-0 winners at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Goals in each half from Conor Chaplin and Carlton Morris earned the Tykes all three points.

Thomas Frank's side still occupy second spot having won four in a row before the defeat to Barnsley.

Brentford went on a scoring spree as they thumped Wycombe 7-2, beat Bristol City 3-2, won 4-1 against Middlesbrough and defeated Reading 3-1.

Sunday's defeat was the first time Brentford had failed to score in the Championship since a 0-0 draw with Derby in early December.

Brentford Teams News

Defender Pontus Jansson and midfielder Shandon Baptiste remain out with ankle and knee injuries respectively.

They are the only two absentees for Brentford.

Verdict

Brentford suffered a rare defeat on Sunday, and a rare blank on the goal front. I'm expecting a reaction from the high-flyers and the Bees to get back to goalscoring and winning ways.
