Rotherham vs Stoke Predictions

Stoke have been the draw specialists away from home and are tipped for a fifth stalemate in a row on the road. Rotherham aren't in the best of form, but they have held the Potters on their last two visits to South Yorkshire.

  • Rotherham have won 2 of their last 11 matches (all competitions).
  • Rotherham have not lost at home to Stoke in their last 5 matches (all competitions).
  • Stoke have drawn their last 2 away matches at Rotherham (EFL Championship).
  • Stoke have drawn their last 4 away matches (EFL Championship).
  • Stoke have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 7 matches (EFL Championship).
  • Stoke have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 6 away matches (EFL Championship).

Head to Head

Stoke are unbeaten in their last four matches against Rotherham with two wins and two draws in that time. In the reverse fixture in October, Stoke were 1-0 winners at home thanks to James McClean's goal.

The Potters have drawn on their last two trips to Rotherham, and haven't won in five when visiting the Millers.

Rotherham Form

Rotherham secured a huge win over relegation rivals Derby on Saturday with midfielder Jamie Lindsay getting the only goal of the game four minutes from time.

The 1-0 win ended a two-game losing run for Paul Warne's side, who moved up to 22nd spot in the Championship - a place ahead of the Rams.

Rotherham had lost their previous two league games 2-1 when going down to Blackburn and Barnsley either side of Christmas.

They were knocked out of the FA Cup third round in extra-time after a 1-1 draw with Premier League Everton at Goodison Park.

Rotherham Team News

Defender Joe Mattock and forwards Chiedozie Ogbene and Kieran Sadlier remain out for Rotherham.

Forward Florian Jozefzoon is a doubt after missing the win over Derby.

Stoke Form

Stoke picked up a fifth draw in their last seven Championship matches on Saturday when pegged back late by Blackburn.

Michael O'Neill's side had led through Nick Powell's goal at Ewood Park. They conceded 14 minutes from time as John Buckley pulled Rovers level, before having James Chester sent-off.

It was not only a fifth draw in seven, but also a fourth successive stalemate away from home.

The Potters had played out 0-0 draws with Derby, QPR and Coventry in their previous away fixtures.

They have also beaten Blackburn 1-0 at home and lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth in the last seven games.

Stoke Team News

Centre-back James Chester is suspended and Danny Batth is likely to come into the heart of the defence.

The Potters are also without James McClean, who has been suspended by the club for breaching COVID-19 rules.

The pair joined injured goalkeepers Angus Gunn and Adam Davies, defender Morgan Fox and strikers Steve Fletcher, Lee Gregory and Tyrese Campbell in missing the game.
