West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips

Goals are expected as West Brom host Nottingham Forest in an English Championship fixture at the Hawthorns. Both teams enjoy an open style of play which is expected to make for exciting viewing on Saturday.

West Brom Form

After a few wobbles at the start of January, West Brom have returned to their best following back to back 2-0 wins over Luton and Millwall. Filip Krovinovic and Dara O’Shea were on target in the win over Millwall.

The Baggies have a fine record at the Hawthorns having suffered just two defeats in their last 15 home matches in the Championship. West Brom’s inability to keep things tight at the back has seen them keep just one clean sheet from their last 16 home matches.

Midfielder Grady Diangana remains sidelined with injury but left back Kieran Gibbs has returned to training and could be available for selection on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest Form

Nottingham Forest are also playing with confidence at the moment and are definitely in the mix for automatic promotion. They have claimed some solid results in recent weeks, including a 2-0 victory over Leeds with Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker getting the goals.

Forest have also impressed on the road lately having gone unbeaten in seven of their last 10 away matches, a run which includes victories at Brentford and QPR. Like West Brom, Sabri Lamouchi's men also struggle defensively with just two clean sheets in their last seven away matches.

They suffered a shock defeat at home in midweek after going down 1-0 to Charlton.

Nottingham Forest News

Tendayi Darikwa remains the only major absentee for Nottingham Forest with the right back still recovering from a knee problem.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Head to Head

Nottingham Forest have a 29-27 advantage with 21 draws from 77 previous matches against West Brom. There has been BTTS in the last three meetings with both teams playing out two draws in that run.

West Brom claimed a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture at the City Ground. Kyle Edwards and Matt Phillips got the goals for the Baggies after Matty Cash had given Nottingham Forest an early lead.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Match Up

Matt Phillips often carries the attacking threat for West Brom with the winger troubling defenders with his pace in the wide areas. He provides the ammunition for Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu who have combined for 15 goals this season.

Nottingham Forest also have quality in attack with Lewis Grabban, who is the team’s top scorer with 16 goals. The striker has also found the net six times in his last 10 appearances and should prove a handful for the West Brom defence.
