Real Madrid were estimated to be worth €3.8 billion in 2019 with an annual revenue of €750.9 million in 2018. The Spanish club are one of the most popular football teams in the world and can attract the best players in football.

Los Blancos have splashed the cash to get some of the biggest names in the game including Zinédine Zidane, David Beckham, Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Kaká, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodríguez, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard.

Much of Real Madrid's recent success began under Florentino Pérez's first presidency from 2000 to 2006. His ambition was for Real Madrid to become the world's richest football club and he has largely achieved that aim.

Pérez's transfer policy has become known as 'Galácticos', a term to describe buying at least one superstar player every summer. One of the biggest was Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, bought from Manchester United in Jly 2009 for a then record fee of €94m.
