Konyaspor vs Besiktas Predictions & Tips - Besiktas backed to get cup win in Konya

Konyaspor have been defensively sound of late but have to find more of a threat going forward. Besiktas should dominate possession and they have the attacking talent to break their hosts down. The best bet for this match is a Besiktas victory.

Besiktas hold a comfortable 25-9 lead over Konyaspor in their 47 previous matches. There have been 13 draws.

They last a week ago in the Turkish Super Lig where Besiktas came away with a 1-0 home victory.

Konyaspor reached the quarter-final of the Turkish Cup by beating Gaziantep 2-1 at home in the previous round. Since then, they have failed to win in five Super Lig matches.

A 3-2 home defeat to Goztepe and a 3-1 loss at Trabzonspor followed the cup victory. Thereafter Konyaspor had two successive 0-0 draws at home against Antalyaspor and Genclerbirligi. 

Konyaspor’s last match ended in a 1-0 defeat at Besiktas, their opponents for this match. That defeat led to the sacking of coach, Ismail Kartal. Ilhan Palut has been appointed as the new manager.

Left-back Alper Uludag has been injured since December 2020 and is only expected back around June 2021.

There is a suspension for central midfielder, Marko Jevtovic for yellow card accumulation. 

Besiktas have been in superb form since mid-December 2020 with 11 wins from their last 14 matches. They beat Rizespor 1-0 at home in the last round of the Turkish Cup.

Over their last five matches, Besiktas have beaten Fatih Karagumruk 4-1 away, Goztepe 2-1 at home and lost 2-1 at home to Trabzonspor. That was followed by a 1-1 draw at Antalyaspor.

In their last match, Besiktas got a narrow 1-0 home victory over Konyaspor. Besiktas played 70 minutes of the match with 10 men after Fabrice N’Sakala saw red.  Valentin Rosier scored the winner nine minutes from the end.

Left-back Ridvan Yilmaz and winger Gokhan Tore have missed the last few matches and will continue to be sidelined for this encounter.

There are suspensions for centre-back Domagoj Vida and left-back Fabrice N’Sakala.

Sergen Yalcin may look to rotate his squad a bit for this cup fixture but should still put out a very strong team.
