Besiktas vs Trabzonspor Predictions & Tips - Besiktas can continue incredible form

Both teams are in very good form but Besiktas have the edge on home soil. They have won their last 10 at home so my best bet is for them to make it 11 straight.

Besiktas hold a narrow 46-42 lead in 115 matches against Trabzonspor. They have drawn on 27 occasions.

Their last meeting saw Besiktas win 3-1 away in September 2020.

Besiktas are top of the Turkish Super Lig table after 20 matches, two points clear of second place. They have been in incredible form with their last defeat coming 12 matches ago.

The only blip in their last 11 matches was a 2-2 draw at Hatayspor. That draw was followed by a 1-0 Turkish Cup win at home against Rizespor.

Since returning to Super Lig action, Besiktas have beaten Galatasaray 2-0 at home, Fatih Karagumruk 4-1 away and Goztepe 2-1 at home in their last match.

After going into the break against Goztepe a goal down, Besiktas rallied well in the second half. Adam Ljajic equalised shortly after the break before Vincent Aboubakar scored the winner 13 minutes from the end.

Besiktas manager, Sergen Yalcin’s has a clean bill of health to his first choice players. The only squad member injured is Guven Yalcin.

Trabzonspor are sixth in the Super Lig, 11 points off top spot. This is due to a slow start to the season but their form has improved significantly with four league wins from their last five matches.

That run began with a 2-1 success at Fatih Karagumruk in Trabzonspor’s first match of 2021. It was followed by a 1-0 victory at home to Goztepe before drawing 1-1 at Antalyaspor.

Trabzonspor did not waste any time getting back to winning ways, beating Konyaspor 3-1 at home and Genclerbirligi 2-1 away.

In their last match, Trabzonspor claimed the Turkish Super Cup trophy, beating Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1. Djaniny Tavares opened the scoring early in the second half but Demba Ba equalised from the spot for Basaksehir.

The match looked to be heading for a draw after 90 minutes but a red card saw Basaksehir needing to play the final 17 minutes with 10 men. That allowed Trabzonspor to dominate and Caleb Ekuban won the game five minutes from the end.

Berat Ozdemir is likely to start alongside Lewis Baker in central midfield with Abdulkadir Parmak injured. 

Anders Trondsen and Abdulkadir Omur have both been ruled out for the season. There is a suspension for Kamil Ahmet Corekci after being sent off recently.
