Kayserispor vs Istanbul Basaksehir Predictions & Tips - Draw predicted in Turkey

Kayserispor needs to start getting points and new manager Dan Petrescu will look to shore up the defence first. I expect a cagey affair that will end in a draw.

Istanbul Basaksehir lead Kayserispor 12-9 in their 30 previous matches with nine draws.

Kayserispor find themselves in trouble in 18th place on the Turkish Super Lig table. Their results will need to improve, particularly at home if they are to stay in touch with those above them.

Kayserispor have been in slightly better form recently, taking two victories from their last three Super Lig matches. After losing 2-0 at home to Besiktas, Kayserispor defeated Denizlispor 1-0 away and Yeni Malatyaspor 1-0 at home.

After those two victories Kayserispor headed into their latest encounter at Gaziantep full of confidence. The hosts took the lead on the half hour but Kayserispor leveled matters on the hour mark through Dimitrios Kolovetsios.

Unfortunately for Kayserispor, Gaziantep were handed a penalty 13 minutes from the end to secure a 2-1 victory. 

New manager, Dan Petrescu has a few injury concerns to deal with. Yasir Subasi is back in training but will still need time to gain match fitness before he’s ready. 

Silviu Lung Jr is also sidelined as is forward Denis Alibec. Wilfried Kanga is likely to continue leading the attack.

Istanbul Basaksehir will be very disappointed with their season after winning the title last season. They have been poor and while the Champions League had a role to play, they have not improved since being knocked out.

There has been a slight improvement in results recently, if not performances. Since losing 3-0 at Alanyaspor, Istanbul Basaksehir have won three of their last four.

That run began with a 1-0 home win over bottom of the table, Erzurumspor and was followed by a 2-1 victory at Ankaragucu. With the Turkish Cup all that is really left to play for, Basaksehir beat Tuzlaspor 5-1 to secure their passage to the next round.

In their last match, Istanbul Basaksehir had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Sivasspor with Daniel Aleksic scoring for Basaksehir. The match was played in atrocious conditions which made it difficult for attackers on both sides to get going. 

Goal scorer from the last match, Daniel Aleksic is expected to start with Nacer Chadli and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo out injured.

Edin Visca is out injured while Junio Caicara has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
