Konyaspor vs Genclerbirligi Predictions & Tips - Struggling teams to cancel each other out

Both of these sides are struggling for form right now and find themselves in a relegation battle. I'm backing Konyaspor to maintain their slender lead over Genclerbirligi on the table with a draw.

Genclerbirligi hold a 24-17 advantage against Konyaspor across their 63 previous meetings with 22 matches ending in draws.

Their last meeting was in the Turkish Super Lig in September 2020 as sides drew 0-0 in Ankara.

Konyaspor sit in 16th place in the Turkish Super Lig table, just three points clear of the relegation places.

After a shock 4-3 home win against Galatasaray in early January, Konyaspor suffered a 2-1 defeat at Fatih Karagumruk. Cup success followed as Konyaspor defeated Gaziantep 2-1 at home in the Turkish Cup.

In the Super Lig, Konyaspor however continued to struggle. The Cup victory was followed by a 3-2 home loss to Goztepe. Konyaspor then lost 3-1 at Trabzonspor.

In their last match, they drew 0-0 at home with Antalyaspor.

Konyaspor have three long term injuries to deal with as Alper Uludag and Marin Anicic miss out in defence and Volkan Findikli is absent in midfield.

Nigerian winger, Jesse Sekidika has signed on loan from Galatasaray and could make his debut. Amar Rahmanovic made his debut from the bench in the last match and could be line for a start.

Genclerbirligi are in 19th place in the Turkish Super Lig, three points from safety. Five consecutive defeats has seen them drop down the table.

After a 3-1 home win against Hatayspor in early January, Genclerbirligi were in 14th place and had a four point gap to the relegation zone. 

They were then thrashed 6-0 at Galatasaray which dented confidence. Four losses followed including 3-1 at home to Fatih Karagumruk, 4-0 at Goztepe and 2-1 at home to Trabzonspor.

In their last match, Genclerbirligi lost 1-0 at home to Antalyaspor. Coach Mustafa Kaplan resigned after that defeat.

Recently appointed coach Mehmet Altiparmak may consider handing a debut to new signing Mustafa Akbas in defence and newly acquired Lucas Mugni in midfield.

Soner Dikmen is suspended in midfield and Mattias Johansson is doubtful in defence. Omurcan Artan and Arda Kizildag could also be absent at the back while striker Ilker Karakas is touch and go.
