Yeni Malatyaspor vs Galatasaray Predictions & Tips - Galatasaray to lose more ground in title race

Yeni Malatyaspor are very hard to beat at home and Galatasaray are struggling on their travels. These sides have drawn in two of their last three meetings so my best bet is for this match to end level.

Galatasaray hold a 5-2 advantage over nine matches played against Yeni Malatyaspor. Two matches have been drawn.

Their last meeting was in the Turkish Cup early this month with Galatasaray winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Yeni Malatyaspor currently sit in 9th place in the Turkish Super Lig after a mixed season so far. 

Malatyaspor recently had a poor run of three defeats in four league matches. They lost 3-1 at home to BB Erzurumspot, 3-1 away at Ankaragucu and 1-0 at Kayserispor. They then lost on penalties to Galatasaray in the Turkish Cup.

Their last two matches have seen consecutive wins as they beat Rizespor 4-1 at home and Hatayspor 2-1 on the road. Zeki Yavru and Adem Buyuk scored the goals.

Yeni Malatyaspor look set to be without striker Benjamin Tetteh due to injury. He has resumed light training but this match may come too soon.

Midfielder Afriyie Acquah returned early from a knee problem to start the win against Hatayspor and should be fit to play this match.

Galatasaray are currently 3rd in the Super Lig with a five point gap to Besiktas at the top. The major reason for that game is Galatasaray's recent dip in form.

Galatasaray got 2020 off to a slow start with a 4-3 defeat at Konyaspor. They bounced back to smash Genclerbirligi 6-0 at home before drawing 1-1 at Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Cup. Galatasaray advanced on penalties.

A big defeat followed however as Galatasaray traveled to title rivals, Besiktas. With the scores at 0-0 Mbaye Diagne was shown read and Besiktas went on to score two late goals to win 2-0.

In their last match, Galatasaray responded well to beat bottom-placed Denizlispor 6-1 with five different goal scorers and an own goal by the opposition.

Gala are without two top strikers as Radamel Falcao is injured and Mbayne Diagne is serving a suspension. Ryan Babel will lead the line.

Fatih Terim will also have to do without two right-backs in Sener Ozbayrakli and Omar Elabdellaoui. The latter has an eye injury after a firecracker related incident. Martin Linnes should start at right back.
