Yeni Malatyaspor vs Trabzonspor Predictions & Tips - Visitors to continue excellent recent form

Yeni Malatyaspor are without a win in their last three matches and face a Trabzonspor side with five wins in a row. I am backing the away side to win in their pursuit of a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Trabzonspor hold a 5-2 advantage against Yeni Malatyaspor in their seven previous meetings with no draws.

Their last match was in the Turkish Super Lig in September 2020 as Trabzonspor won 3-1 at home.

Yeni Malatyaspor were given a reprieve from relegation last season due to the size of the Super Lig being increased and have been more solid this time around. They sit 10th in the table with an eight point buffer to the four relegation spots.

Having been on a five match winless run in the Super Lig, Malatyaspor have enjoyed improved form in their last five matches. 

They beat Rizespor 4-1 at home before a fine 2-1 win at Hatayspor. That was followed by a 1-0 home loss to title chasing Galatasaray and a 0-0 draw at home against Fatih Karagumruk.

In their last match, Yeni drew 2-2 at Goztepe. They twice had to come back from behind through Stephen Mallan and Ahmed Ildiz.

Malatyaspor are without goalkeeper Ertac Ozbir due to a shoulder problem. Abdulsamed Damlu has been covering in that position.

Also expected to be absent is first choice left-back Karim Hafez while Kubilay Kanatsizkus is suspended.

Trabzonspor are in outstanding form as they find themselves in the race for the UEFA Champions League places and have already lifted the Turkish Super Cup this season.

The side currently finds themselves on a run of nine wins in eleven matches. A 1-1 draw at Antalyaspor in January was followed by five wins in a row. 

Trabzonspor beat Konyaspor 3-1 at home before a 2-1 victory on the road at Genclerbirligi. That was followed by lifting the Turkish Super Cup after a 2-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.

They then came from behind to beat Besiktas 2-1 away. Trabzonspor's last match finished in a 1-0 win over Denizlispor at home. Anastasios Bakasetas scored the winner. 

Trabzonspor have three injuries to contend with in midfield. Anders Trondsen and Abdulkadir Omur are out long-term while Abdulkadir Parmak is absent with a hamstring injury. Lewis Baker has covered well in the engine room.

Serkan Asan missed the last match at right-back and is doubtful for this clash.
