An entertaining Champions League (UCL) contest can be expected in Madrid.

I fancy the hosts to score at least twice, with BTTS and over 2.5 goals also anticipated.

Atletico Madrid extended their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 3-0 win against Valencia last weekend. Summer signings Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez scored their first goals for Los Colchoneros in a routine La Liga win.

Diego Simeone's men have won three of their last four matches, with clean sheets kept in victories against Girona (3-0), Bilbao (1-0) and the aforementioned Valencia.

Usually a force at the Metropolitano, Atletico scored at least two goals in over 75% of all home matches played since September 2023.

Atletico boss Simeone has just a couple of injury absentees this week. Reinildo and Pablo Barrios remain sidelined for the hosts.

Julian Alvarez could earn a recall to the attack after netting his first Atletico goal in the weekend win against Valencia.

RB Leipzig Form

RB Leipzig journey to Spain after a frustrating goalless draw against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga last weekend. Marco Rose's side began the season in superb style, with a sensational 3-2 win at Leverkusen breaking the champion's long unbeaten domestic run.

An excellent run of form in 2024 has seen the visitors remain unbeaten in their last 16 competitive matches since March.

Reliable in the goal markets, the Leipzig-based side have seen both teams score in their last 17 competitive away fixtures since December 2023. Fifteen of those games also saw at least three goals scored.

Head coach Rose has no new injury issues ahead of the trip to Germany. Xaver Schlager and Assan Ouedraogo both remain long-term absentees for the visitors.
