Borussia Dortmund have shown signs of stability under Niko Kovac, who took charge in early February, winning three of their last five matches while suffering just one defeat.

BVB secured their spot in the UCL Round of 16 by eliminating Sporting Lisbon. They won the first leg in Portugal 3-0, with Sehrou Guirassy, Pascal Gross, and Karim Adeyemi scoring in the second half, while the return fixture in Germany ended in a goalless draw.

In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund are coming off two consecutive clean-sheet victories—6-0 against Union Berlin and 2-0 against St Pauli. Despite these results, they remain mid-table with slim chances of breaking into the top three. Guirassy has been in outstanding form, scoring five goals across those two matches.

Lille Form

Lille had a strong campaign in the UEFA Champions League league phase, collecting 16 points (five wins, one draw, and two defeats) to finish 7th and secure an automatic spot in the Round of 16.

Their recent form across competitions has been inconsistent. They suffered a shock elimination from the French Cup at the hands of second-tier Dunkerque, losing on penalties, before falling 2-1 at home to Le Havre in Ligue 1.

The Mastiffs responded with back-to-back wins against Rennes (2-0) and Monaco (2-1) but were brought back down to earth last weekend with a 4-1 defeat to reigning champions PSG. They currently sit 5th in Ligue 1 with 41 points from 24 matches.

Felix Nmecha (knee injury) and Filippo Mane (muscle injury) are ruled out for Dortmund, while Julian Ryerson is doubtful.

As for the visitors, Edon Zhegrova, Samuel Umtiti and Tiago Santos are out with long-term injuries.
