Marco Rose’s side drew their opening two matches in the UEFA Champions League after conceding a late equaliser on both occasions.

They rectified that by recording a huge win against Shakhtar Donetsk. Gladbach were clinical in Ukraine, winning 6-0 with Alassane Plea hitting a hat-trick, Ramy Bensebaini and Lard Stindl also on target.

Gladbach’s last match was a 1-1 draw against Augsburg. Florian Neuhaus opened the scoring in the 5th minute and they looked set for all thre points when Augsburg were reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute.

It wasn’t to be a as they failed to kill the game off and conceded an equaliser in the 88th minute.

Attacking midfielder Jonas Hofmann and striker Alassane Plea are injured.
