Dinamo Zagreb vs Celtic Predictions

These sides know their way towards goal, and we should see plenty of chances at both ends.

BTTS is my top tip for Tuesday's tought-to-call UCL encounter in Zagreb.

Stats

  • Dinamo Zagreb have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 matches (UCL)
  • Dinamo Zagreb have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 home matches (UCL)
  • Celtic have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches (UCL)

H2H

Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb will meet for the third time on Tuesday. Celtic claimed a 1-0 win at Parkhead in a 2014 Europa League group phase contest. Dinamo edged to a thrilling 4-3 victory in the return contest two months later.

Dinamo Zagreb Form

Dinamo Zagreb turn their attention to the Champions League after a 1-1 HNL draw against Slaven Koprivnica last Friday. Nenad Bjelica's side have now failed to win any of their last five matches across all competitions.

Despite their indifferent form, the Croats remain in the hunt to qualify for the Champions League knockout phase. Dinamo picked up seven points from their last four UCL matches since a 9-2 shellacking at Bayern Munich in September.

Five games into the European campaign, Zagreb sit 23rd in the league section, one point and position ahead of defending champions Real Madrid.

Dinamo Zagreb Team News

Dinamo Zagreb boss Bjelica has at least three expected absentees for Tuesday's UCL encounter. Petar Sucic, Josip Misic and Takuya Ogiwara are all tipped to remain sidelined.

Croatian international forward Bruno Petkovic also faces a late fitness test.

Celtic Form

Celtic arrive in Croatia in great form after extending their unbeaten run to 14 matches on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers's in-form side boosted their advantage at the summit of the Premiership to nine points with a somewhat flattering 3-0 win against Hibernian.

The three-in-a-row Scottish champions have not lost since a thumping 7-1 defeat against Dortmund at the start of October. Celtic have picked up eight points from four subsequent UCL fixtures against Slovan (5-1), RB Leipzig (3-1), Club Brugge (1-1) and Atalanta (0-0).

The Bhoys sit now 20th in the Champions League table, one point clear of Dinamo ahead of Tuesday's matchup.

Celtic Team News

Celtic boss Rodgers has no fresh injury issues ahead of the Scots trip to Croatia. Norwegian midfielder Odin Thiago Holm is the only expected absentee for the visitors.

Nicholas Kuhn is expected to retain his spot in the Celtic forward line despite being withdrawn at the interval against Hibernian.

Verdict

A competitive and entertaining contest seems likely in Zagreb.

I can't pick a winner, but I fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet.
