Inter Milan's chances of reaching the Champions League knockout stages look slim after Real Madrid claimed a 2-0 victory at the San Siro. Eden Hazard converted an early spot kick for Real before Arturo Vidal was shown two yellow cards by referee Anthony Taylor.
The Chilean midfielder was fuming after Inter's penalty claims were waved away. It was the turning point in the match with Vidal's teammates visibly annoyed at such a petulant act that left their side with little hope against Los Blancos.
Achraf Hakimi scored an own goal which sees Antonio Conte's side rooted to the bottom of Group B with just two points from four games. The win for Zinedine Zidane's side moves the 13-time European champions to second place in the group, one point behind leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
