Juventus Form

Juventus have been hard to beat this season with draws coming in plentiful supply. They have won one of their last seven games, a run that includes four draws.

Thiago Motta’s side went four matches without a win before beating AC Milan 2-0 in Serie A.

The Old Lady went to Club Brugge in the Champions League where they kept it tight and took a 0-0 draw. The result left them 17th on the table and still with a chance of finishing in the Top 8.

Randal Kolo Muani scored first in his Juventus debut at Napoli on Saturday, but they failed to hold on and succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against the Serie A leaders.

Benfica Form

Benfica won the Portuguese League Cup earlier this month, beating Braga 3-0 in the semi-finals and Sporting CP in the final, getting it done in a penalty shootout.

The Eagles side came from behind in the Portuguese Cup, winning 3-1 at Farense to reach the quarter-finals. Leandro Barreiro hit hat-trick in a 4-0 win against Famalicao to get their Primeira Liga campaign back on track.

Bruno Lage’s side lost 5-4 against Barcelona in the Champions League after a Vangelis Pavlidis hat-trick made it 3-1 at half-time. They led 4-2 with 15 minutes to go before conceding three late goals.

Benfica fell to a 3-1 defeat at Casa Pia on Saturday despite Angel Di María’s early penalty putting them ahead. They ended with 61% possession and 7-3 shots on target but were poor defensively once again.

Team News

Juventus are missing the injured Bremer, Juan Cabal and Arkadiusz Milik. Weston McKennie and Kenan Yildiz are doubtful.

Benfica’s Renato Sanches is injured but Tiago Gouveia is getting closer to a return. Alvaro Carreras and Arthur Cabral are suspended.

Predicted Starting Lineups

Motta has a number of options here and could make a far few changes to his starting side.

Randal Kolo Muani is unavailable here with Dusan Vlahovic to start up front.

Juventus: Di Gregorio, Savona, Gatti, Kalulu, Cambiaso, Locatelli, Thuram, Conceição, Koopmeiners, Gonzalez, Vlahovic

Tomás Araújo should replace António Silva in central defence with Jan-Niklas Beste coming in for Carreras.

Expect Fredrik Aursnes, Andreas Schjelderup and Vangelis Pavlidis to come back into Benfica's starting side here.

Benfica: Trubin, Bah, Araújo, Otamendi, Beste, Aursnes, Florentino, Di Maria, Kökçü, Schjelderup, Pavlidis

Verdict

Benfica have conceded eight goals in two games with the club quickly descending into crisis mode. The odds are favourable for Juventus who can take advantage in Italy.
