Lille were on a great run in late February, earning back to back Ligue 1 victories against tough opponents Rennes 2-0 and Monaco 2-1 but started this month with a convincing 4-1 loss to Paris SG.

Les Dogues were a better opponent than Borussia Dortmund in last week’s UEFA Champions League playoff tie in Germany which ended in a 1-1 draw, Hakon Haraldsson finding an equalizer in second half. They had 0.88-0.27 expected goals, 57% possession and 9-7 shots at Signal Iduna Park.

Last weekend, Lille claimed a narrow 1-0 home victory against Ligue 1 table strugglers Montpellier, Jonathan David being the sole scorer in the 50th minute.

Borussia Dortmund Form

Borussia Dortmund had a solid run in the UCL group stage, ending as 10th with 15 points (five wins and three losses), proceeding to beat Sporting Lisbon 3-0 on aggregate in the Round of 32.

Niko Kovac’s side picked up great form in late February, earning back to back Bundesliga victories against Union Berlin 6-0 and St Pauli 2-0, while failing to impress in last week’s UCL tie against Lille 1-1, Karim Adeyemi on target.

BVB’s struggles with inconsistency continued last weekend with a disappointing 1-0 home loss to Augsburg in Bundesliga, ending the match with 1.11-0.20 expected goals, 72% possession and 14-6 shots.

Hosts will be without injured Samuel Umtiti, Tiago Santos and Edon Zhegrova, while Osame Sahraoui is doubtful.

Daniel Svensson and Felix Nmecha are both sidelined with knee injuries for Dortmund, while Carney Chukwuumeka is doubtful.
