Man City vs Chelsea Predictions

Chelsea have beaten Man City twice in the last six weeks which gives them a chance in the UEFA Champions League final. I am backing a draw in Porto with extra time on the cards.

  • Man City have lost 2 of their last 4 matches (all competitions).
  • Chelsea have won their last 2 matches against Man City (all competitions).
  • Chelsea have lost 3 of their last 4 matches (all competitions).

Head to Head

Chelsea have a 70-59 advantage against Man City with 39 draws in 168 matches.

Chelsea have won the last two encounters, 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-finals and 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Manchester City Form

Manchester City have won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions. They got past PSG in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, winning 2-1 in Paris and 2-0 at home.

Pep Guardiola’s side returned to the Premier League where they had an unassailable lead. They lost 2-1 against Chelsea before a 4-3 win at Newcastle where Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick.

Man City travelled to Brighton and took the lead in the 2nd minute. João Cancelo was sent off in the 10th minute, Phil Foden making it 2-0 in the 48th minute before conceding three unanswered goals.

Manchester City hosted Everton on Sunday and registered a 5-0 win. Goals to Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden established a 3-0 lead with Sergio Agüero coming off the bench and scoring twice.

Manchester City Injuries & Team News

Pep Guardiola has a fully fit squad available.

Chelsea Form

Chelsea have lost three of their four matches. They beat Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, a 1-1 draw in Spain followed by a 2-0 win in London.

The Blues returned to the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Manchester City. They couldn’t back it up in a 1-0 loss at home against Arsenal despite having 68% possession and 19-5 shots.

Thomas Tuchel’s side took on Leicester in the FA Cup final, losing 1-0 despite holding the Foxes to one shot on target.

Chelsea got some revenge with a 2-1 home win against Leicester in the Premier League.

It was enough to secure fourth spot in the EPL after a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa on the final matchday. They had 3.43-0.98 expected goals and were thanking Tottenham who won 4-2 at Leicester.

Chelsea Injuries and Team News

Chelsea goalkeeper Édouard Mendy and midfielder N'Golo Kanté are racing against the clock to be ready for the final.

Chelsea have shown they can beat Man City, with two recent wins against the Premier League champions in recent weeks.

The Blues’ recent defeats have been unlucky, and I am backing a draw with the UEFA Champions League final going to extra time.
