Aston Villa finished eighth in the Champions League group stage and lost two matches. Those defeats came away against Club Brugge and Monaco - both 1-0.

Villa eliminated Club Brugge in their Champions League round of 16 match and won 6-1 on aggregate. The Villans followed the second-leg win with 3-0 victories over Preston and Brighton.

The Midlands club won again on Saturday and beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 in the Premeir League. Morgan Rogers and Donyell Malen struck in the opening 14 minutes and Villa conceded after half-time.

Defender Andrés García and forward Donyell Malen are ineligible to play in the Champions League.
