There should prove little to choose between these sides on Thursday.

Both teams' recent history in European competition suggests we can expect a low-scoring contest, so I'm putting my faith in under 2.5 goals scored.

Bala Town face their first competitive fixture in almost three months when they entertain Estonians Paide on Thursday. Colin Caton's side finished the season in poor form, failing to win any of their last five competitive fixtures (D2, L3).

The Lakesiders also slipped to defeat in their only pre-season friendly fixture - a 2-1 loss at Larne 12 days ago.

Making their third appearance in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, Bala have yet to progress beyond the first round. They were eliminated at the first stage in both 2021 and 2022, including a heart-breaking shootout defeat against Sligo Rovers two years ago.

Bala boss Caton has a fully fit squad available for Bala's first competitive fixture of the campaign. Guinea-Bissau-born midfielder Lassana Nalatche Mendes could feature after returning to the club on a free transfer from Hereford earlier this month.

Paide Form

Estonian outfit Paide make the trip to Wales already 20 games into their domestic campaign. Ivan Stojković's side sit fourth in the Meistriliiga after a 2-2 draw against Trans in their most recent run out last week.

Like Bala, the visitors have little winning experience at this level. Paide failed to win ten of 11 previous matches in European competition.

On the road, the Estonians failed to score in three previous away Conference League qualification matches played since July 2022.
